Do you understand how elbow dysplasia works? Neither do we. But we made a model to try to explain it.
This model of a dog's elbow has a medial cutaway of the humerus to show the interior geometry. There is "play" in the joint to show impact on the medial coronoid process. The length of the radius is adjustable to show the effects of an excessively short or long radius. The medial coronoid process can be removed to demonstrate fragmentation or coronoidectomy. The medial humerus can be replaced with an arthritic piece to demonstrate long term degenerative joint disease.
