Answer: lots of arrows, messy scribbles and hand-waving.  
 
Patella luxation is such a three dimensional problem that it is impossible to explain it on a piece of paper.  This model is the perfect solution.  An owner can understand how a stifle is supposed to work and how misalignment makes things go awry.  The model then shows the surgical solutions which causes the owner to smile with an "Aha!" of understanding.
